After two wonderful weeks of travel around Ireland, my mother and I arrived back in the US last weekend, overflowing with stories from our trip, and so grateful and happy to be home again. I took a ton of pictures and filled an entire sketchbook, so I have a lot of follow-up work to do before I’ll be ready to post about all that we did and saw. I need to edit down the 800 photos (really!!) to a more manageable number, and finish adding watercolor to the pen and ink sketches I did on location. (They’re turning out really nice – can’t wait to share them with you!)
For now, here’s a peek at our first day in Northern Ireland …

Isn’t that beautiful?
I’ll post lots more soon! Thanks for your patience. Fall’s a busy time of year for my drapery business, so it’s challenging trying to fit everything in. All in good time …

Can't wait to see more beautiful photographs and your artistic version of the trip. You may need to tell us more about the camera you used! Congrats on a trip of a lifetime.
That's a great idea, to include info about my camera, and maybe the sketching materials I used. Thanks for the input!
Welcome home. My son spent 2 weeks at the beginning of August in Ireland with 5 of his neighborhood buddies. It will be interesting to see your photos compared to his. Can't wait to see your sketches!
Glad you had a good time. It looks so lush and green there! Can't wait to see more pictures and sketches!
