We’re happily ensconced at Fattoria Bacio now and loving every minute of our time in this beautiful place.
The villa is perched on top of a hill, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and hilltop homes. It couldn’t be prettier and the amount of visual stimulation for an artist is almost overwhelming!
I feel like I’m walking around in a calendar picture.
We can see the towers of San Gimignano from here – we’ll be visiting there on Thursday.
The first evening, we got acquainted over glasses of organic Fattoria Bacio Chardonnay served on the terrace overlooking the countryside.
We have a wonderful group of people here for the workshop – nine students, two spouses, and my mother – plus me!
Yesterday was spent relaxing here at the villa. We had class for awhile…

Our cook, Patrizia, prepares authentic Italian food for us, even making separate entrees and desserts for those of us who are vegetarian or gluten-free. She’s incredible!
And the estate wine flows freely at lunch and dinner. The Chianti is a regional specialty, but the Chardonnay is my favorite.

We’re having the time of our lives, and we all feel like we have to pinch ourselves to believe it’s all real. It’s just too perfect!
Tomorrow I’ll tell you all about our day in the medieval town of Certaldo. It was magical! And I’ll take some pictures of some of the sketches we’ve been doing. Stay tuned…
